<p>The Project Manager, Research Support coordinates and leads efforts in a variety of research activities that are complex and wide in scope. Moreover, the Project Manager, Research Support operates with the goal of ensuring that the collection of data and administration of studies are performed efficiently and in compliance with applicable guidelines.</p>

<p><b>Department Specific Functions </b></p>
<p>The Project Manager, Research Support will support the division’s operations, sponsored programs, and research activities. This position requires expertise in both project management and grants management, with a commitment to continual process improvement. The PM will perform their duties across the division’s portfolio of federal and industry funded studies, providing guidance on pre and post award matters including but not limited to grant budgeting, personnel effort allocation, subaward process, service and consulting agreements, monitoring and controlling expenditures and grant closeout. The PM will also assist with tracking progress toward research milestones and divisional goals. The ideal candidate should be able to work closely and effectively with all levels of leadership, staff and clinicians in addition to all resources within the institution.</p>
<p>Oversight of research portfolio, ensuring scope, budget and quality are meeting expectations</p>
<ul>
<li>Provide guidance in applying to various funding mechanisms, with knowledge of OMB Circulars, Federal Agency policies, etc. (primarily NIH)</li>
<li>Develop complex grant budgets, implement subawards, maintain consultant and service contracts, assist in the execution of confidentiality, material and data agreements</li>
<li>Attend regular status meetings with principal investigators and the study team, to stay informed of relevant study developments and to detect and help solve logistical, financial and other operational challenges as they arise</li>
<li>Develop and maintain knowledge of university financial systems and grant e-submission systems</li>
<li>Assist in performing clinical study budget feasibility, sponsor negotiations, liaising with service centers, internal and external invoice reconciliation</li>
<li>Contribute to successful completion of grant deliverables and manage reporting requirements</li>
<li>Meet regularly with principal investigator(s) and other team leaders to review budgetary and contractual needs, revenue/expenditure trends and overall project progress</li>
<li>Act as liaison between the Neuromuscular Division and other departments/centers/institutes as necessary for grant and contract administration</li>
<li>Work closely with PI(s) and central offices in performing activities associated with grant setup and close-out (i.e. request award accounts, deliver revised budgets, oversee the payment of subrecipient invoices, carryover and no-cost extension requests, final financial reports, etc.)</li>
<li>Provide timely financial reporting to the PI(s) and UM Office of Research Administration (ORA)</li>
<li>May attend ORA and ORC administrative meetings on behalf of the division</li>
</ul>

<p><b>Utilization Review Case Manager RN &#8211; Full Time</b></p>
<p>The University of Miami is currently seeking a Prior Authorization Nurse Case Manager. The incumbent purose is to conduct initial chart reviews for medical necessity and identify the need for authorization. The nurse coordinates with the healthcare team for optimal and efficient patient outcomes, while avoiding potential treatment delays and authorization denials. They are accountable for a designated patient caseload and provide intervention and coordination to decrease avoidable delays. At all times they provide communication of progress and or determination to the clinical team and or the patient as it pertains to treatment or treatment barriers. Finally, the nurse serves as the subject matter expert to her team, providing support and education.</p>

<ul>
<li>Adhere and perform timely prospective reviews for services requiring prior authorization</li>
<li>Follows the authorization process using established criteria as set forth by the payer or clinical guidelines</li>
<li>Accurate review of coverage benefits and payer policy limitations to determine appropriateness of requested services</li>
<li>Refers to the treatment plan for clinical reviews in accordance with established criteria in recommended compendia and or guidelines</li>
<li>Serves as a resource to provide education regarding payer policies and facilitates coordination of alternative treatment options</li>
<li>Ensures and maintains effective communication regarding prior authorization status and determination to the clinical team and on occasion the patient.</li>
<li>Facilitates interdepartmental communication regarding authorization status in advance of the patient’s appointment</li>
<li>Identifies potential delays in treatment by reviewing the treatment plan and proactively communicates with the healthcare team and or patient regarding the potential treatment barrier</li>
<li>Maintains knowledge regarding payer reimbursement policies and clinical guidelines.</li>
<li>Ensures appointment notes are in accordance with the authorization on record and the treatment plan ordered</li>
<li>Escalates to the appropriate department should there be a change in or lack of coverage</li>
<li>Facilitates communication of denials and or Peer to Peer requests between payers and the healthcare team</li>
<li>Identifies opportunities for expedited requests and prioritizes caseload accordingly</li>
<li>Serves as the subject matter expert to their assigned team for education and coordination support</li>
<li>Participates in performance improvement initiatives and other alike unit activities such as the denials task force and unit-based practice council (UBPC)</li>
<li>Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.</li>

<p>The Office of the Executive Dean For Research is currently seeking a full time Sr. Manager, Business Operations to work in Miami. The Sr. Manager, Business Operations evaluates, administers, and manages all business and administrative matters including budget, operations, programs and personnel administration for the assigned department. The incumbent provides financial analysis and strategic planning as well as manages the budgetary controls in partnership with various levels of management.</p>
<p><b>CORE JOB FUNCTIONS</b><br />
1. Manages, implements, coordinates, plans and evaluates the business operations for the department/division, which may include statistical, performance and managerial reporting, budget support, capital planning, and process improvement.<br />
2. Develops and ensures adherence to the department’s annual budget, in accordance with University guidelines and policies. Participates in financial analysis and planning including monitoring and reporting on monthly budget variances and opportunities to improve performance.<br />
3. Advances the strategic financial plan and makes recommendations to senior management on how to best execute the department’s plan.<br />
4. Formulates department policies and guidelines to carry out the University and department mission.<br />
5. Oversees the review, approval and reporting of all expenditures. Reviews and approves financial transactions.<br />
6. Creates and manages support systems to ensure availability of cost effective supplies, equipment, and management information.<br />
7. Monitors contractual obligations and ensures consistency with departmental budget, goals, and programmatic initiatives.<br />
8. Evaluates existing internal controls and approval processes and makes recommendations on how to improve fiscal integrity and operational efficiency.<br />
9. Implements department human resources actions, which may include hiring, terminations, salary etc. Recruits, trains and prepares performance reports for staff.<br />
10. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.</p>

<p>The Executive Dean for Research’s Office at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine (MSOM) is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Manager, Sponsored Programs to support the University’s research mission. This role plays a critical part in advancing the goals of the Executive Dean for Research by overseeing all administrative and financial aspects of sponsored research programs across assigned departments and faculty. This position offers flexibility for remote or hybrid work arrangements and requires demonstrated experience with federal grant mechanisms, including NIH, DOD, and NSF. The Senior Manager, Sponsored Programs operates with the goals of increasing sponsored funding levels and the output of funding proposals, as well as maximizing the use and efficacy of existing research funding dollars. Further, the incumbent develops and implements policies and methods that further these goals.</p>

<h2>Purpose</h2>
<p>The Financial Manager oversees all financial and accounting operations for Texas Engineering Executive Education (TxEEE), the self-sustaining continuing professional engineering education (CPEE) unit within the Cockrell School of Engineering at UT Austin.  As a key member of the TxEEE leadership team, this position is responsible for the day-to-day management of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and purchasing, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting and support for TxEEE’s programs, events, and operations.</p>

<p>This role supports three professional engineering master’s programs (Option III), a suite of stackable graduate certifications, as well as a portfolio of open enrollment and custom short courses—including PETEX-branded offerings and programs run by the Health and Safety Training Center (HSTC).</p>

<p>The Financial Manager supervises assigned staff and is responsible for developing and maintaining financial policies, procedures, and internal controls that comply with the Cockrell School of Engineering and university guidelines, as well as generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).  This includes managing the annual budgeting process and working with the Executive Director and TxEEE leadership in creating and overseeing the preparation of actionable financial reporting and analyses.</p>

<p>Reporting to the Executive Director, the Financial Manager works closely with the TxEEE leadership team to monitor the unit’s financial performance, support strategic planning, and implement process improvements that enhance efficiencies and the unit’s long-term financial sustainability.</p>

<li>Operational Support and Oversight:
<ul>
<li>Responsible for managing timely payment and procurement processing, tracking of deposits, invoices, procard vouchers and reconciliation, purchase orders, wire transfers, interdepartmental transactions, reimbursements (e.g. travel authorizations and reimbursements), and contracts and service agreements.</li>
<li>Ensures compliance with internal controls and financial regulations</li>
<li>Develops and oversees risk management strategies.</li>

<h2><b>Purpose</b></h2>
<p>To provide professional knowledge and expertise in the administration and support of environmental compliance for the University. Responsible for all overall coordination and implementation of EHS waste programs to ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory agency guidelines and institutional policies.</p>

<h2><b>Responsibilities</b></h2>
<ul>
<li>Responsible for hiring, training, management, and supervision of UT and contract hazmat employees handling hazardous waste, regulated medical waste, and other waste materials for the University. Ensure employees are operating safely and following regulatory requirements and internal procedures. Resolve waste management issues and provide guidance to faculty, researchers, staff, and students. Primary contact for waste management projects and for affiliated sites requiring travel.</li>
<li>Accounting, record keeping, and state reporting. Ensure accurate records of the collection, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste, regulated medical waste, and other regulated waste materials following all regulatory requirements and internal procedures. Generate and finalize documentation and reports required by federal, state, and local regulators. Responsible for tracking, processing, and verifying all program related expenses and billing.</li>
<li>Responsible for the program development for hazmat operations and incident response. Design and conduct training for all levels of employees, principal investigators, and researchers. Develop and implement accident investigation, data analysis, and recurrence prevention programs and procedures. Provide technical review for projects.</li>
<li>Designated building manager for the Main, PRC, MSI, and MCD waste buildings and manages the waste rooms for DPI, HDB, and HTB. Must ensure facilities are regulatory compliant and work with facilities to keep up-to-date with preventative maintenance and, as needed, coordinate repairs and renovations for the facilities.</li>
<li>Responsible for assigning inspections, monitoring and testing of sites, and the collection of environmental samples to comply with regulatory requirements. Responsible for ensuring compliance of the Industrial and Hazardous Waste, Pollution Prevention Planning, and Tier II Reporting for all UT affiliate sites. Acts as the primary point of contact with regulatory agencies for these areas. Supports other compliance initiatives where needed.</li>
<li>Asst with management of on-call and special events and programs including scheduling and the development of written procedures. Assts in the absence of the Associate Director working closely with the Environmental Operations Manager.</li>

<h2><b>Required Qualifications</b></h2>
<p>Bachelors degree in Engineering, Applied or Basic Science, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field from an accredited academic institution. Six years of professional experience in environmental health and safety programs with experience managing hazardous and regulated waste, or Master&#8217;s degree with four years&#8217; experience. Experience interacting with regulators. Eligible for certification by the Insitute of Hazardous Material Management or Board of Certified Safety Professionals. Licenses: Class &#8220;C&#8221; Operator&#8217;s Driver&#8217;s License. Demonstrates good interpersonal communication skills.</p>

<p>The Ticketing Manager is part of the team responsible for ticket sales and service for all Texas Performing Arts events. The Ticketing Manager reports to the Director of Ticketing and is responsible for managing student ticket staff as well as processing Group Sales. Working with the Director of Ticketing, the position manages the operations of the ticket office during regular hours and for assigned events. This includes providing elevated customer service, managing part-time and student ticket office staff, technical and equipment support, and reconciling events on performance days.</p>

Conduct customer service de-escalation and follow up on negative customer service interactions. Participate in the event day settlement of audits and internal event settlements.</li>
<li><b>Student Ticket Seller Management:</b> Recruit, train, schedule, and execute performance evaluations for student ticket staff for all Texas Performing Arts ticketed events and public ticket office hours. Create and maintain event support documents and training materials with the Director of Ticketing.</li>
<li><b>Ticket Office Management</b>: Assist in the day-to-day ticketing operation, including phone and web sales, refunds and exchanges, customer inquiries, and scheduled or on-demand reporting. <li><b>FACILITATE RECRUITING PROCESS:</b><b> </b>Coordinate with employers from specific industry sectors to facilitate a first-class recruiting experience for both employers and students at the McCombs School of Business. Manage and coordinate recruiting schedules, employer events, and job postings using Career Services Management software (12twenty) and data management tools to manage business processes. Vet recruiting opportunities thoroughly to ensure accuracy, legitimacy, and success. Provide excellent customer service to constituents to maintain positive relationships with corporate recruiting partners.</li>
<li><b>ASSIST EMPLOYERS WITH RECRUITING TACTICS: </b>Advise employers in the timing and types of events and interviews to help them be competitive and successful. Manage schedule conflicts and avoid employer competition and conflicts. Provide feedback to employers which will increase their success regarding deadlines, schedule set-up, job descriptions, event advertisement, etc. Liaise between employers, Career Management &amp; Corporate Relations staff, and students to contribute to successful recruiting outcomes. Participate in calls and meetings with employers as needed to ensure optimal outcomes for students and recruiters.</li>
<li><b>COLLABORATE FOR OPTIMAL OUTCOMES: </b>Collaborate with Texas McCombs program partners to optimize the interview process and ensure employer satisfaction. Work closely with fellow staff to manage internal processes and communication. Maintain accuracy of recruiting databases and report on recruitment activity and statistical data as appropriate. Participate in and support Career Management &amp; Corporate Relations activities and events.</li>
<li><b>INTERVIEW CENTER OPERATIONS</b>: Assist with the operations of the on-campus interview center, including opening and/or closing responsibilities and front desk coverage as needed.</li>

The manager will supervise daily tasks and implement safety procedures to maintain biohazard and environmental standards. Additionally, they handle administrative functions such as scheduling, purchasing, and personnel management while providing strategic guidance to leadership on program direction.</p>

<p><b>Coordination and Oversight of Animal Care Programs </b></p>
<ul>
<li>Oversees the care and treatment of animals used as teaching models for VTPP.</li>
<li>Induces and monitors animals under anesthesia and coordinates necessary treatments for teaching animals.</li>
<li>Supervises record-keeping associated with the Animal Health Care and Adoption Programs.</li>
<li>Assists with generation and ongoing documentation for relevant animal use protocols.</li>
<li>Coordinates Animal Health Care and Adoption Programs, ensuring preventive health care procedures for teaching animals.</li>
<li>Responsible for the placement of teaching dogs into suitable adoption situations.</li>
<li>Performs basic veterinary technical skills (e.g. intravenous catheter placement, intubation, basic laboratory functions).</li>
</ul>

<p><b>Staff Management and Development</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Provides intermediate supervisory authority for technicians and students in the VTPP teaching laboratory, ensuring compliance with safety standards and proper use of equipment.</li>
<li>Supervises visiting technicians from other teaching programs.</li>
<li>Hires, trains, and evaluates job performance of technicians and student workers in the VTPP academic service section.</li>

<li>Oversees compliance with Federal, State, and University guidelines for the use of animals.</li>
<li>Ensures adherence to approved animal use protocols for faculty and technicians.</li>
<li>Monitors compliance of state and federal regulations for animal use, chemical storage, and medical records in teaching activities.</li>
<li>Supervises the training of students in various animal-handling techniques, anesthesia administration, and post-procedure recovery.</li>

<li>Responsible for ordering all animals used in the departmental teaching program.</li>
<li>Manages inventory, purchasing, and resupply of laboratory pharmaceuticals and equipment for teaching labs.</li>
<li>Coordinates the transfer of equipment to surplus and ensures preparedness for inspections.</li>
<li>Communicates workspace concerns to the Facilities Coordinator and Professional Programs Office.</li>
<li>Academic administrative support (including and not limited to proctoring exams and exam reviews, grading worksheets, and interacting with the learning management system).</li>
