<p>The department of Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Sponsored Programs Specialist to work on the UHealth campus. The Sponsored Programs Specialist monitors, supports, and evaluates grant activities within the assigned department to ensure compliance with applicable guidelines, rules, and regulations.</p>

<p><b>CORE JOB FUNCTIONS</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Monitors sponsored accounts for problem expenditures and compliance issues including follow-up with departmental and sponsoring agency personnel.</li>
<li>Resolves expenditure issues, including discrepancies and overdrafts.</li>
<li>Analyzes information on sponsored awarded accounts, researches the accounting system, and contacts departmental administrators to solve issues.</li>
<li>Requests additional information and approves or denies the following HR transactions as they relate to the impact to sponsored accounts: new hires, account changes, overload payments, and other HR transactions.</li>
<li>Approves or denies payroll journal entries and non-payroll transactions affecting sponsored accounts.</li>
<li>Works with the awarded amount and approved agency budget to set up account budgets.</li>
<li>Interprets regulations and assists department administrators in understanding sponsored programs requirements.</li>
<li>Prepares sponsored accounts for transmittal to the financial section of sponsored programs, account closing, upon award termination.</li>

<li>This position will support pre- or post-award activities for an assigned portfolio of grants and contracts using knowledge of grant and contract management rules and regulations, technical expertise, and analytical skills</li>

<li>Responsible for at least 10+ active sponsored awards, involving clinical and non-clinical research, under supervision of manager</li>

<p>The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is currently seeking a full time Clinical Business Operations Specialist to work in Miami. The Clinical Business Operations Specialist serves as a lead to Clinical Business Operations Representatives and facilitates the prompt resolution of highly complex problems related to pre and post care that arise in daily clinical operations. The incumbent performs administrative and receptionist functions, to include answering incoming calls, efficient management of patients, and the acquisition of necessary patient care and records. The Clinical Business Operations Specialist assists patients in a courteous, efficient, and professional manner and ensures adherence to divisional and departmental service standards.</p>

<p><b>CORE REPONSIBILITIES</b></p>

<li>Assists the department in managing expectations surrounding pre and post patient care.</li>
<li>Provides guidance and support to Clinical Business Operations Representatives and assists with training and continuous improvement.</li>
<li>Obtains or reviews all patient demographic information, insurance information and referral numbers.</li>
<li>Reviews clinical records for completeness including authorization, signatures, missing data, and other patient information.</li>

<p>b. Resolve problems encountered by the staff pertaining to UMMG policies and procedures,</p>
<p>insurance/managed care contracts, referrals, etc.</p>
<p>c. Aid in setting up clinics for all faculty and for changes.</p>

<h2>Purpose</h2>
<p>Provide accounts payable support for the University community and vendors by preparing or reviewing payment documents for eCommerce accurately and promptly. Ensure adherence to state and federal rules and regulations in regards to procurement and payment.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h2>Responsibilities</h2>
<ul>
<li>Review and reconcile monthly assigned UT Market vendor statements to clear outstanding invoices and/or credit memos by reconciling to DEFINE and to Jaggear. Determine the reason outstanding invoice remains not paid and try to resolve issues, such as requesting a UT Market invoice to be sent that was not received, request proof of delivery, request copies of credit memos, and send emails to departments about status of receipt documents.</li>
<li>Ensure prompt payment of UT Market invoices by processing credit memos in DEFINE, flipping purchase orders to create electronic invoices not received electronically in Jaggaer and daily downloading of the VPU successfully created report, and of the VPU error creation report. Resolve all error messages triggered when approving VPU documents via email to the department and follow up to ensure VPU document are final approved. In addition, manually push out matched invoices from the match exception folders in Jaggear before 5:00PM each business day to be processed by the nightly batch job.</li>
<li>Primary responder to email requests sent to oa.ePayments@austin.utexsa.edu group email address by departments and vendors to include requesting PDF copies UT Market invoices from vendors for SPAA, create receipts as needed and create electronic invoices in Jaggear as needed.</li>
<li>Review and process credit memos as needed for UTMarket Orders on VP1 payment documents. Create Excel spreadsheet of “Unmatched Invoices” to email Chemistry department on the 1st and 15th of every month.</li>
<li>Assist with other duties as assigned by supervisor such as review for approval other types of payment documents in AP as needed or check, sort and scan invoices received via US mail and campus mail or make deposit runs.</li>

<h2>General Notes</h2>
<p>The Education Specialist supports the Mission-Aransas National Estuarine Research Reserve (Reserve) and the University of Texas Marine Science Institute (UTMSI) by developing and delivering environmental education programs for K–12 students, college groups, the public, and community audiences. This position plays a key role in creating innovative, standards-aligned programming, and implementing high-quality, hands-on learning experiences both onsite and in the field.</p>

<h2>Responsibilities</h2>
<ul>
<li>Design, develop, and deliver engaging environmental education programs aligned with TEKS and Reserve goals for K–12 audiences, college students, public visitors, and community groups. These newly and previously developed programs will include classroom lessons, outdoor field investigations, vessel-based excursions, interpretive nature tours, and film discussions for various audiences.</li>
<li>Maintain and update program materials, curriculum guides, and supporting resources to ensure accuracy and relevance.</li>
<li>Greet visitors and provide engaging, accurate, and age-appropriate information about the exhibits, marine science research, and local coastal ecosystems.</li>
<li>Create and develop engaging digital content for MAR’s website, social media and email channels, as well as monitor and respond to social media and email inquiries.</li>
<li>Lead informal tours around Reserve/UTMSI trails (Wetlands Education Center), answer visitor questions, and share interesting facts about the Reserve and UTMSI’s work.</li>
<li>Collect and manage data on education program attendance, participant demographics, and feedback for program evaluation and reporting.</li>
<li>Assist with the development, maintenance, and oversight of educational exhibits, signage, and facilities at Reserve education sites.</li>

<h2>Required Qualifications</h2>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor&#8217;s Degree from an accredited college or university.</li>
<li>Two years of recent experience presenting formal or informal education or interpretation programs.</li>
<li>Familiarity with common Microsoft Windows software, such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.</li>
<li>Basic knowledge of environmental ecology.</li>
<li>Strong communication and organizational skills.</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team.</li>
</ul>

<h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor&#8217;s Degree from an accredited college or university in Marine Science, Environmental Education/ Interpretation, or a closely related field.</li>
<li>Three to five years of recent experience in development and implementation of formal or informal education or environmental interpretation programs.</li>
<li>Experience developing and implementing environmental education programs.</li>
<li>Knowledge of marine and estuarine ecology.</li>
<li>Prior experience operating or crewing on small vessels and conducting water activities.</li>

<h2>Working Conditions</h2>
<ul>
<li>Combination of office, classroom, laboratory, and outdoor field environments.</li>
<li>Year-round exposure to variable weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, wind, and occasional coastal storms.</li>
<li>Fieldwork may involve boat-based operations, wading in shallow waters, and walking over uneven, sandy, or muddy terrain.</li>
<li>Tuesday–Saturday schedule with occasional evenings, weekends, or overnight travel for programs, workshops, and outreach events.</li>
<li>Lifting and carrying of educational materials and field equipment (up to ~40 lbs).</li>
<li>Potential travel within the Reserve boundaries and to partner sites, as well as to attend trainings or education-focused conferences.</li>

<p>The laboratory research specialist is responsible for the performance and development of quantitative mass spectrometry (MS) analyses of bio-samples (blood/tissue samples) with stable small molecule isotope tracers from unique research projects at the Center of Translational Research on Aging and Longevity (CTRAL) or from (inter)national collaborating research projects together with qualified supporting personnel.</p>

<li>PhD in Analytical Chemistry</li>
<li>3 years of experience with operating and development of high throughput GCMS/MS and/or LCMS/MS quantitative applications with biological samples.</li>

<li>Working in Biosafety Level 2 laboratory.</li>

<li>2 LC-Triple-Quad MS/MS (5500 and 7500+ QTRAP, SCIEX) with Microanalytical LC system (M5 microLCs with trap-and-elute)</li>
<li>GC-Triple-Quad MS/MS (7000E, Agilent)</li>

<p><span class="emphasis-3"><u><b>Responsibilities</b></u></span></p>
<p><b>Operating and maintaining MS and chromatography equipment</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Will complete quantitative small-molecule mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS) analyses using stable (non-radioactive) isotope methodology to study underlying metabolic pathways and to determine nutritional requirements</li>
<li>Responsible for operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining the MS equipment independently for existing applications</li>
<li>Will assist in the development, improvement, and validation of new stable isotope detection methods to measure small biomolecules/metabolites</li>
</ul>

<p><b>Preparations for MS analyses</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Responsible with assisting personnel to prepare (biological) samples, standards for the MS</li>
<li>Design sample run order lists and standards</li>
</ul>

<p><b>Data entry, analysis, and writing reports/manuscripts</b></p>
<ul>
<li>Responsible for the quality control of the produced quantitative MS data</li>
<li>Data entry into a variety of statistical software to prepare for and conduct analysis and reports/manuscripts (when needed)</li>
<li>Update/writing Standard Operating Protocols</li>
<li>Responsible for detailed reports and should be comfortable to work in a multidisciplinary team</li>
<li>When capable, will also develop/publish new small bio-molecule mass spectrometry applications</li>
