To support the research and teaching activities of the newly created chair and to commence as soon as possible. The position is initially limited to 3 years, with the possibility of extension, and will be remunerated according to salary grade A13.
The Chair of Intelligent Energy Management focuses on the future of multi-energy systems and uses cutting-edge technologies such as digital twins, Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum computing to optimize energy grids and promote the transition to renewable energy. The position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, research-oriented environment that contributes to the global energy transition. The position offers academic freedom to design your own research projects in the field of energy management and to initiate, lead and execute new projects in the areas of digitalization and sustainability of energy systems.
Your responsibilities:
- Teaching and course administration in the field of energy management in German and English
- Development of a Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) laboratory for research and teaching in the field of energy systems
- Assume a leadership role in all phases of research projects, from proposal writing to implementation and supervision of research assistants.
- Collaborate with faculty members and industry partners to develop and implement innovative digital solutions in energy management.
- Promotion of research results through participation in national and international conferences and publication in renowned journals.
Your profile:
- PhD in a relevant field (electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering) with experience in renewable energy or smart grids.
- Strong research background, ideally proven by participation in several research projects.
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) experiments and real-time simulations of energy systems.
- Experience in acquiring third-party funding.
- Very good communication skills in German and English.
- Experience in project management and collaboration with industrial partners.
