Join a dynamic research environment working at the leading edge of drug metabolism. The Estrada lab in the Department of Biochemistry is interested in hiring a postdoctoral associate who will have the opportunity to lead their own independent project. Our lab uses a variety of biophysical and biochemical techniques to investigate the structure and function of cytochrome P450 enzymes. As a lab member, you will receive one-on-one training in these and other necessary techniques.
This position includes the following key duties:

- Growth of bacteria and purification of proteins of interest.
- Protein quantification and characterization.
- Data analysis and interpretation of data.
- Communication of research findings in laboratory notebooks, written reports, and in oral presentations.
- Supervision of undergraduate researchers.
A typical week in the lab will include an individual meeting with Dr. Estrada, followed by the design and execution of research in the laboratory and communication of findings during a weekly lab meeting, at research conferences, and in peer reviewed manuscripts. You will also be able to experience the dynamic work environment at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, which is housed in a state-of-the-art building in downtown Buffalo, NY. Minimum Qualifications
PhD degree with an emphasis in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, or other life science related field.
Preferred Qualifications
PhD degree in Biochemistry.
Salary Range
$50,000 – $55,000
