Professor Barbara Prinari in the Department of Mathematics seeks a Postdoctoral Associate (In-House Title: Visiting Assistant Professor) to perform independent and directed research in the area of nonlinear waves and integrable systems. The specific objectives of the project are to:
- Development of perturbation methods for multicomponent integrable systems on a nontrivial background
- Study of scalar and vector discretizations of integrable systems
Minimum Qualifications
Doctoral degree or equivalent from a foreign university in: Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in coding with Mathematica and Python, MATLAB, Julia, C/C++, or a similar program language
Prior knowledge of the theory of integrable systems and of the inverse scattering theory
