Postdoctoral Fellow
Your tasks
The focus of this SNSF project is to image and visualize the transmission of sound from the tympanic membrane to the oval window in the human middle ear. The objectives of this post-doctoral position are:
- Improve the sound stimulation setup in collaboration with the clinical team and support synchrotron experiments
- Developing a 3D semantic segmentation algorithm to label automatically the middle ear microstructures
- Optimize the dynamic analysis pipeline by integrating digital volume correlation to quantitatively detect micromovements in the ossicular chain
- Tailor the pipeline for large X-ray phase contrast tomography datasets
- Segment and perform the 3D analysis of the acquired datasets
- Investigate non-linear behavior of the human middle ear bones
Your profile
- A PhD degree in computing science / biomedical engineering / physics or arelated field obtained
- Previous experience in programming, data analysis, machine learning andimage processing
- Knowledge in X-ray tomography is considered as plus
- Very good communication skills (speaking and writing) in English
- Enjoy working in an interdisciplinary, multinational research environment
- Be an enthusiastic researcher and a good team player will help to ensure yourintegration

This position (with an initial 2-year contract) is a 3-year position localized at PSI and performed in collaboration with the Sense Research Center, the CHUV in Lausanne, and the Eaton Peabody Laboratory in Boston (USA).
