About the project/work tasks:

  • To lead work on implementation and development of frameworks and methods for equity-adjusted cost-effectiveness studies in FairChoices: DCP Analytics Tool (www.fairchocies.org), and test these for selected maternal and childhood interventions, and interventions targeting non-communicable diseases relevant for inclusion in essential service packages in low- and middle-income countries.
  • To develop equity-impact modelling in the FairChoices: DCP Analytics Tool for selected maternal and childhood interventions, and non-communicable disease interventions.
  • To comprehensively document frameworks and methods for quantitative equity-impact analyses in FairChoices: DCP Analytics Tool.
  • Based on this work, to publish papers in peer-reviewed international journals.

Qualifications and personal qualities:

  • The applicant must hold a Norwegian PhD or an equivalent degree within medicine, health sciences, public health, or similar fields, or have the doctoral thesis submitted prior to the application deadline. It is a condition of employment that the PhD has been awarded and at the latest within 5 months after the closing date for applications.
  • The applicant must have experience from research in philosophy and ethical theory.
  • Experience in the application or development of quantitative methods for equity-efficiency trade-offs in health policy and empirical research is considered an advantage.
  • Clinical experience as a medical doctor, nurse or public health practitioner is considered an advantage.
  • Experience with the R programming language is considered an advantage.
  • Work independently and in a structured manner, and have the ability to cooperate with others.
  • Proficiency in both written and oral Norwegian and English.

About the position of postdoctoral research fellow:

The position of postdoctoral research fellow is a fixed-term appointment with the primary objective of qualifying the appointee for work in top academic positions. The fixed-term period for this position is three years. You cannot be employed as a postdoctoral research fellow for more than one fixed term period at the same institution.

The employee may be assigned required duties in the form of teaching and similar work at the department.

The fixed term period for the position is three years, with the possibility of an extension of the period with up to one year if a research- related stay abroad shall be included in the employment period.
