The University at Buffalo Department of Pediatrics Division of Behavioral Medicine seeks a Research Assistant to implement study protocols for studies involving food insecurity and obesity among women and children.
The position is available immediately and job duties will include:

- Mainly conducting research with an emphasis on adult and pediatric eating behaviors.
- Manage and analyze quantitative research data using the SAS program.
- Implement research study protocols, use innovative skills in recruiting, screening, scheduling, and assessing research participants.
- Work on research material development and preparation, conducting research participant interviews, administering measures, following research protocols, data collection, coding, and entry.
- Management and training of students.
- Attend research meetings, and conduct scientific literature searches.
- Complete daily research-related tasks in order to run the lab efficiently.
The ideal candidate is a motivated team-based worker with ability for independent direction when needed. Accommodating disposition and comfort with fast-paced, ever-changing environment and a large range of contacts. Must be available for occasional evenings and Saturday commitments. This is a temporary position with a 12-month duration.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in health, statistics, or social science-related field.
- Proficiency with SAS and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in health, statistics, or social science-related field.
- Previous experience with pediatric populations.
- One to two years of experience in patient contact, data collection, and data analysis.
Physical Demands
The individual must physically be in the laboratory setting.
Salary Range
$37,000 – $41,000
