Comparative Medicine (KM) is the Karolinska Institute’s central organization with the task of taking care of today’s and developing the laboratory animal operations of the future. We are now looking for a research coordinator with experience in work environment issues mainly in biosafety.
The position is part-time, (20%) and time-limited to approximately 3-6 months.
Job duties
You act as an advisor regarding biosafety and handle notifications and permit applications for contained use of GMM and infectious agents. You are the contact person and link between Comparative Medicine and KI’s central biosafety committee and are responsible for receiving and disseminating relevant information to employees. Additional tasks of a similar nature (e.g. risk assessments) may be included within the scope of part-time work. You are expected to get into your tasks quickly and take a great deal of independent responsibility.
Qualifications
The position requires experience in biosafety issues and risk assessments. Previous research experience is necessary, as is experience with animal experiments at advanced level. As you and your colleagues handle complex matters together, your ability to cooperate is essential and great importance will therefore be placed on personal suitability. You report to the deputy operations manager.
