Company Description

The University of Helsinki is dedicated to solving global challenges and creating the preconditions for a better future through the power of knowledge. Founded on 26 March 1640 during the reign of Queen Christina of Sweden as the Royal Academy of Turku, the University relocated to Helsinki in 1828 following the Great Fire of Turku. It was renamed the Imperial Alexander University in Finland and, after Finland’s independence in 1917, became the University of Helsinki.

Educational Approach

The University offers a wide range of multidisciplinary degree programmes, emphasizing research-based teaching and learning. It aims to produce high-impact knowledge that contributes to solving global challenges and integrates sustainable development perspectives into its education.
