Missions

In our recent work we report multi-scale characterization techniques used to study the organic functionalities present in the pores of these films. Techniques such as SAXS, NMR, FT-IR, absorption and emission spectroscopies, BET and thermoporosimetry have been employed to explore these materials.

We are currently offering a 14-month postdoctoral position, in collaboration with the Centre de RMN à Très Haut Champ de Lyon (CRMN), to study the molecular organization within the pores using very high field solid-state NMR combined with high-resolution transmission electron microscopy. We expect this innovative approach to provide essential insights into the control of internal pore properties, which have important applications in fields such as catalysis and sensor development.

Activities

The postdoctoral researcher will join the “Functional Materials and Photonics” team at the Chemistry Laboratory of ENS de Lyon, and will work in close collaboration with the LCMCP, the IPCMS and the CRMN. The main objectives will be to synthesize and characterize, in particular by very high field NMR, model functional hybrid films.

SKILLS

Candidates should hold a PhD with expertise in materials chemistry, sol-gel science, and NMR, and a solid understanding of these fields. The ability to work effectively in a team and lead collaborations is essential. A good command of English is required.

Work context

The Chemistry Laboratory of the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon (ENS Lyon) conducts fundamental research in chemistry, with a particular focus on materials science. As part of a collaborative consortium with the Laboratoire de Chimie de la Matière Condensée de Paris (LCMCP – Prof. C. Sanchez and Dr. C. Boissière), the Institut Charles Gerhardt Montpellier (ICGM – Dr. M. Wong Chi Man), and the Institute of Chemistry and Physics of Materials of Strasbourg (ICMS – Prof. O. Ersen), our research project focuses on the fundamental understanding of supramolecular assemblies of metal precursors during the sol-gel process in mesoporous hybrid thin films.
