More than 8,000 people from more than 110 nations work at the University of Bern. They conduct research, teach, provide public services, and ensure university operations. The University Executive Board is part of the Rectorate. It supports the University Executive Board in planning and management, data analysis, and cost accounting according to the guidelines of the Swiss University Conference, as well as in university-wide projects and process management. Within the University Executive Board, the Data Analysis team operates a university-wide data warehouse that provides various internal and external recipients with data and statistics. We are seeking support for this task.

Tasks
  • You will serve various internal clients from the faculties and the central department of the University of Bern with evaluations from the data warehouse and prepare the results in a meaningful way
  • They support the delivery of data to the Federal Statistical Office and international university ranking organizations with information on students, staff and finances
  • You create recurring statistics for reporting
  • You will help to further develop the field of data analysis. This includes automating evaluations and creating new reports.
  • You will work on maintaining and expanding the data warehouse
Requirements
  • University degree (university, university of applied sciences) or equivalent training and further education
  • Experience in quantitative data analysis as well as relational databases and SQL programming
  • Knowledge of a statistical programming language and/or a visualization tool such as Microsoft Power BI
  • Basic business knowledge and experience in a university environment is an advantage
  • Good to very good knowledge of German, good written expression
  • Quick comprehension, strong analytical thinking and careful, reliable and service-oriented working methods
