Job Description

This position will focus on advanced seismic monitoring using DAS and nodes, with emphasis on DAS processing and dense acquisition techniques for land-based applications. This in-person position is located at J.J. Pickle Research Campus in North Austin.

 

Purpose

This position aims to advance innovative processing and acquisition methodologies for land DAS and dense surveys, focusing on synthetic modeling, 4D analysis, and seismic monitoring.

 

Responsibilities

  • Research and development in seismic monitoring and DAS.
  • Modeling and interpretation of land seismic data.
  • Seismic data processing and analysis.
  • Participation in the consortium meeting and sponsor report.
  • Writing and publishing research.
  • Mentoring and collaboration.
  • Coordination with project partners and sponsors.
  • Support for field activities and instrumentation logistics.

 

Required Qualifications

·  PhD in Geophysics

·  Experience with land seismic acquisition, DAS, and time-lapse monitoring

·  Proficient in computer programming

·  Extensive publication and presentation record

·  Excellent written and verbal communication skills

 

Degree must have been obtained within 3 years from date of hire.

 

Preferred Qualifications

·  Hands-on experience with land seismic, DAS data processing, and monitoring

·  Proven ability to coordinate field data acquisition and deploy processing software

·  Prior industry experience with focus on seismic acquisition or DAS applications

 

Salary Range

$65,000

Retirement Plan Eligibility:

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
