The Department of Psychology at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for the opening of Adjunct Lecturers of Psychology for the semester starting Fall, 2025. The opening require teaching undergraduate research methods courses, introductory statistics, or courses in clinical, cognitive, developmental, industrial-organizational, or social psychology. Candidates should be available for both on-line and classroom teaching assignments.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Previous teaching experience and fit to the department’s teaching needs are critical.
  • In addition, successful candidates must either have demonstrated a commitment to building an inclusive, equitable, and diverse campus community, or describe one or more ways they would envision doing so, given the opportunity.
  • Ph.D. preferred and at least ABD status required.

The initial contract period is one semester, with a good chance of continuing renewal depending on funding. Review of applications begins immediately and will continue until the vacancies are filled. Candidates should submit a letter of application, including concise statements of teaching experience and interests, and a CV.

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES

This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.
