What We Want
The Research Assistant will perform skilled, administrative, and managerial support in research.  In addition, this position will plan and direct certain phases within a research project. What You Need to Know

Salary Range: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or related field
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Prior professional/lab experience with anaerobic/bacterial culturing
  • Prior experience with Next-generation sequencing analysis and RT-qPCR methodology and analyses
  • Prior molecular Biology experience (cloning)

Responsibilities:

  • Laboratory Research: Assists in the design, planning, and coordinating of research on the physiology of C. difficile spores and vegetative cells. Manages data in laboratory notebook. Uses computers and laboratory or technical equipment to perform data analysis of research experiments and results. Evaluates and summarizes results.
  • Laboratory Maintenance: Assists with laboratory maintenance. Installs, operates, maintains, and/or repairs research equipment.
  • Presentation: Assists with reports, presenting research findings at weekly laboratory meetings, and performs duties as assigned by supervisor.
