The Biodiversity and Conservation Biology research unit investigates the diversity of life in its various forms, from genetic diversity to the diversity of species and habitats, as well as their interactions. Within the framework of the RAVEN project of the National Research Programme “Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services” (NRP 82), the Habitat Dynamics group is seeking a
You will collect national and cantonal data for two regions in Switzerland related to the promotion of biodiversity in agriculture, forests, and settlements, which will be incorporated into a social learning project. You will conduct qualitative and quantitative spatial data analyses and prepare the results for workshops with various interest groups and researchers. You will communicate your survey findings to internal and external stakeholders and participate in the development of a systems model.
You have a master’s degree in environmental sciences, biology, geography, sociology, political science, or a related field and have excellent knowledge of ecology. You also have experience in data collection and solid knowledge of data analysis using GIS and spatial analyses in R. You are experienced in presenting your own work to various interest groups and have a strong interest in transdisciplinary research. Excellent German and English skills are essential. You are proactive, committed, and communicative, and enjoy working independently and in an international and interdisciplinary team.
