Research Coordinator @Karolinska Institutet posted 16 hours ago

Job Description

Karolinska Institutet is one of the world’s leading medical universities. Our vision is to drive the development of knowledge about life and work for better health for all. As a research coordinator, you will have the opportunity to work with research in a successful research group.

Your role

You will be part of the research group HELD (Health in everyday life of people with neurological disabilities) and a research program Future Healthy Aging (FHÅ) which is funded by FORTE. As research coordinator you will work in the project, ASSIST 2.0: A reablement project for healthy aging which is part of FHÅ.

The aim of the project is to develop, implement and evaluate a unique reablement intervention, ASSIST 2.0. The intervention is based on a working model called reablement and involves home care staff who, together with occupational therapists and physiotherapists (AT & FT), will support older people living at home to participate in and perform everyday activities that they want and need. The project has a pragmatic clinical design with intervention and control groups in Uppsala and Stockholm.

The work for you as a research coordinator involves collecting and administering quantitative and qualitative interview data (in Stockholm) and contributing to data analysis, with a focus on reablement. You are also expected to participate in writing scientific publications together with the project team, one of which will likely be a process evaluation study.

The position is a fixed-term employment of up to one year, at 50% of full-time, with the possibility of extension.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who has completed or will complete their PhD in occupational therapy, health sciences or a related field in the near future. Since data collection is done with older people in their home environment, you should have experience and feel comfortable interviewing people in a non-clinical setting. You should have experience in collecting and analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data, including conducting process evaluations. You need to have good collaboration skills within and outside academia, be able to take initiative, work structuredly and independently. The applicant needs to have good oral and written communication skills in English and Swedish.

What do we offer?

A creative, international and inspiring environment filled with competence and curiosity. Karolinska Institutet is one of the world’s leading medical universities. Our vision is to drive the development of knowledge about life and work for better health for all. Here we conduct successful medical research and have the largest range of medical education in Sweden. As a university, Karolinska Institutet is a government agency. This means that you receive good benefits through our collective agreement. Employees at KI are also offered the opportunity for a flexible working method. This means that if the business you work in allows, you can work part of your working hours remotely. You are also allowed to exercise freely in our modern wellness facilities where trained staff are on site.
