The Ross laboratory at Stanford University School of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual at the postdoctoral level with a research interest in stem cell biology, aging, and cancer. The Ross lab is situated within the Stanford University School of Medicine’s Department of Radiation Oncology. The laboratory applies in vitro and in vivo experimental techniques to study normal and malignant stem cells in the context of aging and cancer.

Individuals with backgrounds in stem cell biology, cancer biology, molecular biology, immunology, and bioinformatics, are all welcome to apply. Lab techniques include mammalian cell culture, mouse models, standard molecular biology and biochemistry, FACS/flow-cytometry analysis, genetic manipulation of cells (e.g., CRISPR), and microscopy. Candidates with experience in computational analysis are encouraged to apply.

The position is available immediately and the start date is flexible. The position is initially for one year with possibility of renewal based on performance.

Required Qualifications: 
  • PhD and/or MD degree conferred prior to start date
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Candidates with expertise in Cancer Biology, Stem Cell Biology, Immunology, or relevant discipline with expertise in molecular and cell biology are encouraged to apply.
  • Basic to advanced experience with computational analysis and R/Python.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to work effectively with collaborating researchers.
  • Successful applicants will have a productive record of research and publications.
