The Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering Department at NYU Tandon School of Engineering is seeking to hire a Post Doctoral Associate to work in the Labs of Prof. Elisa Riedo and Prof. Davood Shahrjerdi.

We are looking for two highly motivated, creative, and independent nanoscience researchers who are interested in interdisciplinary nano and bio research. The research position is focused on novel nanofabrication methods and advanced electronics measurements for innovative next generation biosensors. The work will be located in the labs of the Tandon Engineering School of New York University and will include close collaboration with the StartUp Glaucus Technology located in the NYU Tandon Future Labs Incubator Hub.

Expectations

Candidates will be responsible for tasks including but not limited to:

  • Conduct biosensing electronic experiments using AFM techniques and clean-room lithography, deposition, etching, and metrology methods.
  • Develop and implement innovative nanofabrication techniques for next-generation biosensor applications.
  • Collaborate with startup Glaucus Technology and other partners at the NYU Tandon Future Labs Incubator Hub to advance biosensor technologies.
  • Contribute to interdisciplinary research in nanoscience, focusing on physics and materials science integration.
  • Prepare and present research findings through publications and conferences, showcasing advancements in biosensor development.

 The successful candidate should be prepared to discuss how they have successfully demonstrated the outlined tasks in their past job experiences. Creative, independent, highly motivated, and solution-oriented researchers are strongly preferred.

 Salary range

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary for this position is $64,063 depending on the candidate’s experience and qualification.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a PhD in Physics, Material Science or Electrical Engineering or a related field. We welcome applicants with recent PhDs and individuals seeking additional postdoctoral training. Candidates will be required to present eligibility to work in the United States. Candidates should have strong communication skills and be hard working.
