Position Function
This position will work on studying the connection between soil health and plant water use from field to global scales. This individual will be responsible for collecting and analyzing soil health and plant water use data at field to global scales to explore how soil health influences plant water use and how different agriculture practices impact this relationship.
Anticipated Division of Time
This position requires 10% of the time for field work and data collection, 60% of the time for data analysis, and 30% of the time for writing, and publishing scientific articles.
Requirements
We are seeking applicants with a Ph.D. in soil science, hydrology, agricultural engineering and environmental science/engineering. Strong communication skills are essential, including the ability to write, publish, and present research effectively. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in soil and hydrology mechanisms, experience in analyzing big data at global scale and a strong publication record.
Supervision Exercised
This position may supervise students.

Pay Range:
$61,008.00 – $87,000.00
Pay Ranges:
The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined considering the following criteria:
- Prior relevant work or industry experience.
- Education level to the extent education is relevant to the position.
