A Post-doctoral Associate position in proteomics is available for a chemist/chemical biologist to work on a research project, “Biological Functions of Glycolipids,” led by Dr. Zhongwu Guo in the Department of Chemistry. This position in our group works on: (1) sequencing and proteomics studies to reveal how DNA damages contribute to cancer and aging-related diseases, and (2) proteomics and lipidomics studies to disclose how GSLs correlate with aging related diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease.
We are looking for an individual with a strong skillset in the areas of molecular biology, proteomics and/or lipidomics, sequencing, bioinformatics, and synthetic chemistry. The functions will include conducting research, generating publications, contributing to grants and progress reports, and mentoring junior personnel in the lab.
Successful candidates must have a PhD in chemistry/chemical biology. This position will be initially awarded for one year, and, contingent upon strong performance and conduct and availability of funds, may be renewed for up to two years.

Minimum Requirements:
Ph.D. in Chemistry/Chemical Biology
Preferred Qualifications:
A strong background in molecular biology, sequencing, bioinformatics, and synthetic chemistry.
A strong track record of publications
Experience in MS and proteomics or lipidomics
Ability to work independently and in a team
