Projects will involve world-leading studies created by the Unit – such as the UK Blood Donor Studies involving >100,000 UK blood donors and the BELIEVE study, a household survey of ~75,000 adults in Bangladesh – as well as other large-scale international biobanks such as UK Biobank, All Of Us etc. The projects will benefit from close collaboration with teams at the CEU and DPHPC, as well as nationally (e.g. collaborators in the HDR UK Driver Programme on Molecules to Health Records) and internationally (e.g. collaborators at the Berlin Institute of Health).
The preferred candidates will have a PhD or is in the final stages of PhD in a relevant area (e.g. epidemiology, genomics, computational biology, biostatistics). The ideal candidates will also have experience of analysing large-scale population data, genome-wide association studies and/or multi-omics analyses, and cluster computing. Postholders will be expected to lead the writing of impactful publications. They should have a pro-active and motivated mindset, attention to detail and strong communication skills.
