The Faculty of Life Sciences, Institute of Psychology, Professorship for Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, is seeking to fill the following position as of April 1, 2025, as part of a research project funded by the German Research Foundation:

The project “Decision-making behavior in pathological hoarding” examines the experiences and behavior of those affected by pathological hoarding when making neutral and compulsive-specific decisions. In an online experiment, other factors (such as emotional attachment to possessions) are taken into account and clinical and non-clinical samples are examined.

TASKS

  • Participation in the piloting, implementation and further development of a research project on the topic of “Decision-making behavior in pathological hoarding”
  • Implementation of an online experiment with two decision paradigms
  • recruitment and diagnostics of test subjects
  • conducting experimental tests
  • Conducting clinical diagnostic interviews (also by telephone)
  • data analysis and evaluation (including experimental data)
  • Preparation of English manuscripts for publication and presentation of results at scientific conferences

WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • completed academic university degree in psychology
  • Willingness to obtain scientific qualifications (doctorate)
  • very good methodological knowledge
  • very good English skills
  • organizational talent, commitment, social skills and ability to work in a team
  • Clinical knowledge and experience (e.g. in conducting clinical diagnostic interviews)
  • Experience in experimental programming/control (e.g. with Matlab) and complex data analysis (e.g. with R) is an advantage
