Research associates will be expected primarily to teach and conduct research. The research associate will also have the opportunity to pursue further academic qualifications, in particular a doctoral dissertation. At least one-third of set working hours will be made available for the research associate’s own academic work.

  • collaboration in research projects in the field of ‘Physical Activity and Neurocognition’ – neuroscientific processes and health correlates of physical activity are investigated in the research laboratory
  • participation in and use of the laboratories of the Health Science department (e.g. EEG, fNIRS, EMG, SC, eye tracking, facial expression, ECG)
  • planning, conducting and analysing experiments/studies
  • presentation of studies at international conferences
  • publications in international journals with peer review process
  • support in acquiring third-party funding
  • teaching in the field of health science (2 LVS)
  • collaboration in academic self-administration
  • academic qualification (PhD)

Your profile

A university degree in a relevant field.

  • very good university degree in psychology, neuroscience, exercise/sport science, health science (or related subject areas) (level: Master’s degree, diploma, state examination)
  • familiarity with the publication process in scientific journals
  • strong interest (and experience) in experimental neuroscience research
  • several years of experience in dealing with at least one neuropsychological measurement method (e.g. EEG, fNIRS, fMRI)
  • very good knowledge of methods, programming and quantitative statistics (e.g. R, Matlab, Python, PsychoPy, SPSS)
  • very good knowledge of English
  • strong teamwork and communication skills, high level of commitment, initiative and willingness to learn
