History
Founded in 1900 in Dallas, Texas, as the University of Dallas Medical Department, the institution affiliated with Baylor University in 1903, becoming Baylor University College of Medicine. In 1943, the college relocated to Houston to join the newly formed Texas Medical Center. By 1969, it became an independent institution, adopting the name Baylor College of Medicine.

In July 2023, the college expanded by opening a new regional campus in Temple, Texas, in collaboration with Baylor Scott & White Health.
