Job Description

You will develop tools for assessing the impacts of natural hazards on infrastructure in high mountain regions. This includes the creation of hazard maps as part of the Speed2Zero project, a joint initiative of the ETH Domain. You will also develop a model chain for real-time hazard assessment, including predicting the propagation and impact of snow avalanches potentially reaching high mountain passes. This work is part of an Italian-Swiss Interreg project. You will work closely with the other project partners and translate scientific results into practical applications.

You have a university degree in geosciences, environmental sciences, or engineering and have strong experience in programming and data processing. Thanks to your strong communication skills, you collaborate effectively with team members from diverse backgrounds and skillfully convey information to people with varying levels of expertise. You are well-organized and motivated to work in an interdisciplinary and international team and find solutions to practical problems.
