The Department of Psychology is now looking for a doctoral student in any field of study in the subject and based on their own proposed project plan.

Regarding the doctoral programme
The doctoral programme amounts to 240 credits, the equivalent of four years of full time studies. The programme formally ends with the doctoral candidate publicly defending her/his published doctoral thesis. The primary obligation of the holder of a limited tenure doctoral position is to successfully fulfill her/his third cycle education ending with an approved Ph.D. thesis.

Regulations for limited tenure employment as a doctoral student are found in Higher Education Ordinance (chapter 5, 1-7§§). Only those persons who have been formally accepted to doctoral studies by the department can be eligible for limited tenure employment as a doctoral student. In addition to their own doctoral studies doctoral students can be required to perform departmental duties such as teaching, research and administrative work in accordance with the terms of the regulation, amounting to
20 percent of full time. Information regarding doctoral studies in psychology are available at the following site: http://www.psy.lu.se/en/study/phd-programme

Eligibility
Students with basic eligibility for third-cycle studies are those who have completed a second-cycle degree, have completed courses of at least 240 credits, of which at least 60 credits are from second-cycle courses, or have acquired largely equivalent knowledge in some other way, in Sweden or abroad.

A person meets the specific admission requirements for third-cycle studies in psychology if he or she has passed at least 30 second-cycle credits in the main field of psychology, including a second-cycle degree project worth 15 credits, or equivalent knowledge acquired in Sweden or abroad.

A high level of both spoken and written English is required for the studies and will be assessed through an interview with the highest ranked candidates.

Application
Please follow instructions for application at http://www.psy.lu.se/en/study/phd-programme. Please note that only complete applications will be considered and that full eligibility must be met before the last day for applying. No need to have contacted a possible supervisor before applying nor to attach a financial plan. The position is financed by the department.

Type of employment
Limit of tenure, four years monthly paid according to HF 5 kap 7§.
