Position Summary
A lecturer in the Knight Campus Internship program will teach summer and academic term courses with the goal of preparing students for Master’s level positions in academic, industry, and government labs. Lecturers teach students topics that span bioinformatics and genomics, materials science, chemistry, biochemistry, and/or chemical engineering in an experiential format. They will also assist the director in aspects of student success including participation in admissions committee, student professional and technical mentoring, engagement with the alumni network, and engagement with external partners for internship check-ins and evaluations. A small amount of research may also be conducted to stay up to date in the field, engage with external partner scientists, and inform program curriculum.
Minimum Requirements
• PhD. In exceptional circumstances, a bachelor’s degree with extensive relevant experience will be considered.
• Three years of experience in research/innovation capacity.
• Experience teaching and developing curriculum at the graduate level.

Preferred Qualifications
• Research experience in bioinformatics and genomics field.
• Applied machine learning experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work in an HPC environment.
• Experience with using version control for collaboration (Git/GitHub).
• Communication of work in white papers, peer reviewed publications, and/or conferences and internal and external talks.
• Demonstrated ability to code in Python, bash, and/or R.
• Experience in development of bioinformatics analysis pipelines dealing with sequencing data types and their specific file formats.
