Your activities
The successful candidate will complete a doctoral thesis in law as part of the FNS project “Security and Privacy with Second-Hand Storage Devices: User-Centric and Legal Perspectives” conducted at the FDCA and HEC. In this multidisciplinary project, the successful candidate will have to conduct a detailed legal analysis (mainly from the perspective of Swiss law) of the residual data found on second-hand storage devices (in particular the rights and obligations of buyers, sellers and intermediaries, from the perspective of civil, administrative and criminal law). As part of the project, this analysis will be compared with the perception of buyers and sellers on their rights and responsibilities.
The selected person will be integrated into the entire research project and will be called upon to participate in its proper functioning (including support for the organization of workshops, writing of documents, sessions with other partners, scientific publications, etc.). He/she will work under the supervision of Prof. Sylvain Métille (FDCA), Aurelia Tamò-Larrieux (FDCA) and Kevin Huguenin (HEC).
Your profile
We are looking to hire someone with the following profile:
- Interest in computer and digital issues.
- Very good knowledge of the Swiss legal system.
- Lawyer’s license or practical experience is an asset.
- Ideally basic technical knowledge in IT or willingness to acquire it.
- Good analytical and synthesis skills.
- Dynamic and curious personality, ready to evolve in an interdisciplinary framework, and capable of independence.
- Perfect command of French. Good knowledge of English and German desired.
