- Assist in the design and analysis of experiments; carry out experiments with minimal or no immediate supervision and record and maintain all acquired data in specified formats for scientific reliability and general comprehension
- Administering compounds to mice (injections, oral gavage), performing dissections to isolate and characterize lymphocytes from various tissues, and conducting relevant animal models of disease (e.g., infections and immunizations)
- Process mouse biospecimens such as blood and tissues for flow cytometry, histology, viral and antibody titering, DNA, RNA, etc. Perform simple techniques in cell biology and microscopy: examples include cell isolation and culture procedures, immunocytochemistry, tissue cryosectioning, microscope imaging, cell sorting, and some basic molecular biology and biochemistry.
- Maintain cell culture lines, including preparation of culture media, chemicals, reagents and solutions
- Perform routine lab maintenance, cleaning, ordering, and organizing.
- Maintain lab SOPs, maintain organization of the lab which includes all equipment, freezers, fridges, reagents in these areas and general upkeep of lab space.

- Experience with the care and handling of mice, flow cytometry, and molecular biology techniques is preferred, ideally with some experience outside of laboratory classwork (i.e. in a working laboratory)
- Analytical skills to resolve complex problems requiring the use of scientific, mathematical, or technical principles and in-depth, experienced-based knowledge
- Flexibility, motivation, and ability to work independently.
- Willingness and ability to take on multiple projects simultaneously.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Work requires a bachelor’s degree in botany, biology, zoology, psychology or other directly related scientific field.
Experience
Work requires four years of research experience. A related master’s degree may offset required years of experience on a 1:1 basis, e.g., a two year master’s degree in lieu of two years of experience.
