Summary

The Rasool Lab at Moffitt Cancer Center, within the Department of Machine Learning, advances cancer care through AI-driven innovation. This position provides an opportunity to lead research in multimodal learning and large language models (LLMs) for medical data, driving breakthroughs in cancer diagnostics, prognostics, and treatments.

Position Highlights:
•    Work in a premier research environment with cutting-edge facilities and collaborations with clinicians, researchers, and industry partners.
•    Develop and optimize multimodal machine learning and LLMs for cancer-related data.
•    Address diverse applications, including medical imaging, natural language processing, predictive modeling, genomics, and clinical data integration.
•    Enhance patient outcomes by analyzing complex datasets using advanced AI tools.
•    Collaborate with domain experts to coordinate workflows, benchmark tools, and support novel AI methodologies in cancer research.

The Ideal Candidate:
•    Proficient in advanced Python programming and deep learning frameworks with PyTorch expertise.
•    Skilled in developing LLMs, Transformer architectures, and multimodal learning techniques.
•    Experienced in integrating diverse medical datasets, including imaging, genomics, and clinical data.
•    Familiar with high-performance computing and cloud environments for training large-scale models.
•    Competent in deploying scalable, reliable AI models while ensuring data privacy compliance.
•    Strong communicator with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
•    Dedicated to advancing foundation models and multimodal AI applications in healthcare.
•    Skilled in data preprocessing, model evaluation, and advanced AI techniques like multimodal data fusion.
•    Experience with Git, Docker, and task management tools.
•    Effective communicator with a track record of collaboration in multidisciplinary teams.
•    Committed to ethical AI practices and safeguarding sensitive data.

Responsibilities:
•    Design and optimize multimodal AI models using radiology, pathology, genomic, and clinical datasets.
•    Fine-tune LLMs and Transformer-based architectures for healthcare, ensuring accuracy and interpretability.
•    Build scalable pipelines for data processing, model training, and deployment using advanced frameworks.
•    Collaborate with clinicians and data architects to integrate AI models into clinical workflows.
•    Benchmark and evaluate cutting-edge AI tools for innovative cancer care solutions.
•    Manage large medical datasets, ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance with privacy regulations.
•    Deploy high-performance computational solutions in research clusters or cloud environments.
•    Prepare technical documentation and data visualizations to communicate findings effectively.

Credentials and Qualifications:
•    Minimum of bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
o    PhD is preferred.
•    A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in machine learning with expertise in ML, DL, or NLP.
