We are hiring for a postdoc position in environmental epidemiology to work on multiple grant-funded projects related to heat (primarily) and air pollution. The environmental epidemiologist should have a PhD in epidemiology or a related field, experience analyzing large administrative datasets, and strong familiarity applying time-series and/or case crossover study designs. Knowledge of case control studies is also valuable.
The postdoc will be based in the Gangarosa Department of Environmental Health at Emory’s Rollins School of Public Health and will work under the supervision of Professor Stefanie Ebelt, Professor Howard Chang, and Dr. Noah Scovronick. The research focus will be on differential vulnerability to heat exposure using both statewide hospital data and electronic medical records from the Emory hospital system.
Analyzing interactions between individual- and area-level effect modifiers will be a component of the work. There is scope for the postdoc to pursue their own research interests within these broad parameters.
