Your Job:
- In the joint project “KaLiBer” of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection, you will investigate the distribution of organic and inorganic pollutants in cities, ports and on motorways to determine peak concentrations of these compounds. The data is used to dimension filters that increase the service life of fuel cells.
- The mobile measurement laboratory is equipped with a range of instruments that can be operated while driving and measure the atmosphere in high temporal resolution. You will analyse the data and examine the effects on local air quality through formation of ozone or organic secondary aerosol.
- You will work together with fuel cell manufacturers and users from industry in the project and support them with their analytical questions.
- You will present the results within the project and publish them.
Your Profile:
- Master`s degree and subsequent doctorate in physics or chemistry or related fields
- Experience with atmospheric measurement techniques
- Excellent programming skills for data analysis and interpretation, e.g. Python or IDL
- Enjoy working in an interdisciplinary and international team
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Very good knowledge of English
