The lab of Prof. María Rodríguez Martínez at the Department of Biomedical Informatics & Data Science, Yale School of Medicine, is seeking a highly motivated and talented postdoctoral researcher to join the team for a pioneering project at the intersection of computational immunology and AI-driven protein engineering. The postdoctoral researcher will leverage state-of-the-art protein language models (PLMs) and advanced AI-based structural modeling techniques to design and optimize T and B cell receptors (TCRs and BCRs). The work will focus on predicting critical properties such as specificity, binding affinity, and functionality to enhance the precision and efficacy of targeted immunotherapy applications.
Key responsibilities:
– Develop and implement AI models to study and optimize TCR and BCR interactions, enhancing receptor design for improved binding affinity, specificity, and therapeutic effectiveness.
– Collaborate with experimental teams to validate model predictions and design novel therapeutic receptors.
– Contribute to publications, grant applications, and collaborative projects within the lab.
Qualifications:
– Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Machine Learning and Deep Learning for Computational Biology, Computer Science, Applied Physics and Mathematics, or a related field.
– Strong background in protein modeling, structural biology, or AI-driven protein design.
– Experience with generative models, such as diffusion models, is a plus.
– Proficiency in machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and programming languages (Python preferred).
– Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
What we offer:
– A supportive, interdisciplinary research environment.
– Access to cutting-edge computational resources and datasets.
– Opportunities to contribute to impactful research in immunotherapy and therapeutic receptor design.
If you are passionate about advancing computational immunology and excited by the potential of AI-driven protein design, we would love to hear from you! Please send your CV, a brief statement of research interests, and contact information for three references. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
