Sports nutrition, with a focus on food choices and behavior
The department wishes to appoint a postdoc to conduct research related to dietary challenges among athletes (various target groups, which can be proposed by the candidate), its associations with health and performance, and opportunities for change, particularly with regard to sustainability.
The postdoc is expected to play a leading role in designing and implementing relevant interventions with high practical value, The postdoc will be responsible for analyzing collected data and preparing manuscripts for publication in high-ranking journals. This will be done in close collaboration with other researchers at the department, while the candidate should independently develop their research profile in relation to the department’s overall scientific activities. The work may also involve collaborations with other institutions in Sweden and/or internationally.
Requirements
Doctoral degree in nutrition science or related fields, particularly sports science, sports nutrition, exercise physiology, or related areas. Foreign degrees must be assessed as equivalent to a doctoral degree. The degree must be completed no later than the time the employment decision is made. Preference will be given to those who have completed their degree no more than three years ago. The three-year time frame is calculated based on the application deadline. If there are special reasons, such a degree may have been completed earlier. Special reasons include leave due to illness, parental leave, assignments within trade union organizations, etc.
Additional qualifications
We are seeking an individual who is responsible, motivated, and has demonstrated independence in their research work. Prior experience with dietary assessments, metabolic testing, performance testing (in the lab or in the field), and working with athletes is also an advantage. Strong analytical skills and the ability to carry out logistically challenging projects are essential. The postdoc must also be able to work well in a team, and strong networking experience is seen as an advantage. Significant emphasis will be placed on the ability to publish scientific work in high-quality journals and to present at conferences and scientific meetings.
