JOB DESCRIPTION
We are now looking for a postdoctoral researcher to join our team and to provide and further develop their expertise related to magnetic materials, computational electromagnetics, transformers and/or electrical machines. Depending on the expertise and interests of the applicant, the work can be tailored to contain e.g. some of the following tasks:
- Characterization and modeling of grain-oriented electrical steel sheets and permanent magnets
- Characterization, modeling and fabrication of magnetoelectric composite materials
- Modeling of AC losses in high-temperature superconducting coils in electric power applications
- Development of 2-D and 3-D electro-magneto-thermo-mechanical modeling tools (in particular finite element methods) for transformers and electrical machines
- Design, manufacturing and testing of new controllable transformer and electrical machine concepts
Participation in project management and instruction of Ph.D. students is expected. Participation in teaching at the Electrical Engineering Unit is also possible. The job requires occasional traveling to international conferences to disseminate the research results. International research visits to other universities or research institutes are also possible.
REQUIREMENTS
Successful candidates hold a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering, electromagnetics or similar and are familiar with transformers and electrical machines. They possess the theoretical and practical or programming skills and can demonstrate previous experience relevant to the tasks they are applying for.
The position also requires:
- Good English language skills
- Ability to independently conduct systematic scientific research
- Ability to work in a team and communicate clearly in a multidisciplinary and international environment
