Postdoctoral positions are available on NIH-funded research projects to study how RNA metabolism is dysregulated in cancer by the Borden Lab. Dr. Borden is a professor at the Department of Pharmacology and a member of the Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, located in the center of downtown Chicago.
The focus of the Borden lab is to understand disrupted RNA metabolism in cancer with a focus on acute myeloid leukemia (AML). We are dissecting novel mechanisms related to RNA splicing, nuclear export, and translation and how these contribute to cancer cell biology with a focus on cell motility.
Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent with strong research experience in RNA biology. PhD students about to defend can apply. Applicants with experience in confocal microscopy, RNA sequencing methods, and associated bioinformatics analysis are encouraged to apply.
