The Beattie lab is seeking qualified candidates for a Postdoctoral Researcher. The candidate will conduct experiments on an insect-vectored bacterial plant pathogen aimed at understanding the eco-evolutionary behavior of the pathogen, causal agent of cucurbit bacterial wilt.
This research will involve evaluating the population changes during transmission and associated with various vector behavior using neutral barcoded libraries of the pathogen, as well as exploring genome-wide patterns of genetic variation among pathogen isolates and at the plant- and field-level scales. The candidate will be expected to plan and execute research experiments, collect, analyze and summarize data results, communicate results to scientific audiences, and contribute to the training and mentoring of students.
