Job description
Based on her/his expertise, the postdoctoral researcher will join one of the five research group described above. The successful candidate will perform the following tasks in his/her respective area of expertise:
- responsibility for a strategic development project at the unit level
- responsibility for teaching courses offered by the unit
- carry out independent research of high quality
- supervise students writing their theses;
- participation in other activities of the unit and the research group.
The postdoctoral researcher’s specific teaching and research orientation will be discussed and agreed with the candidate during the recruitment process.
Requirements:
- experience of research and teaching in the field of industrial engineering and management
- doctoral degree in industrial engineering and management or equivalent;
- ability to manage research projects;
- strong competences in teaching.
The position of postdoctoral researcher requires a doctoral degree, evidence of publication activities. Previous involvement in acquiring research funding (e.g. grants, projects) will be considered as additional merit. We appreciate experience of working with companies. We expect the candidate to be committed to delivering high-quality teaching and have a serious intent to develop as a member of an international scientific community. The position requires fluency in the English language.

We offer
The position will be filled for a four-year period. The planned starting date is 1 June 2025 or as mutually agreed. A trial period of six (6) months applies to all our new employees.
The salary will be based on both the job requirements and the employees’ personal performance in accordance with the Finnish University Salary System. The position of a postdoctoral researcher is placed on the job demand levels 5-6 (teaching and research staff).
