The Department of Biology at Texas A&M University is responsible for research and teaching within the vast disciplines of the biological sciences, from molecular cell biology to ecology and evolutionary biology. What We Want

What You Need to Know
Salary Range: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or related field
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Prior professional/lab experience with anaerobic/bacterial culturing
- Prior experience with Next-generation sequencing analysis and RT-qPCR methodology and analyses
- Prior molecular Biology experience (cloning)
Responsibilities:
- Laboratory Research: Assists in the design, planning, and coordinating of research on the physiology of C. difficile spores and vegetative cells. Manages data in laboratory notebook. Uses computers and laboratory or technical equipment to perform data analysis of research experiments and results. Evaluates and summarizes results.
- Laboratory Maintenance: Assists with laboratory maintenance. Installs, operates, maintains, and/or repairs research equipment.
- Presentation: Assists with reports, presenting research findings at weekly laboratory meetings, and performs duties as assigned by supervisor.
