Applications are invited for a postdoctoral researcher to join Professor Tom Gur’s research group in the Department of Computer Science and Technology at the University of Cambridge, UK.

As a part of a UKRI Future Leaders award, this position is focused on research in quantum algorithms and complexity theory. Particular topics include quantum learning theory, property testing, coding theory, cryptography, state/unitary synthesis, Fourier analysis, interactive proofs, probabilistically checkable proofs, and zero-knowledge proofs. There will also be many opportunities to contribute to international collaborative projects with other universities and industry.

Essential criteria

Successful candidates must hold (or be close to completing) a PhD in Computer Science or a relevant subject area. Appointment at research associate level is dependent upon having a PhD or equivalent skills, and experience through non-academic routes. Where a PhD has not been awarded the appointment will initially be made as Research Assistant and amended to Research Associate once the PhD is received.
