Do you want to contribute to improving human health?

The Tibbitt lab aims to understand the immunometabolism of type 2 immune cells and the impact of host metabolism in allergic diseases such as asthma. Our team has a keen interest in understanding how cellular metabolism shapes responses to treatment and if these can be applied to potentiate current and feature threapies from our base at the Centre for Infectious Medicine (CIM), Department of Medicine Huddinge (MedH).

Your mission

You will contribute to a project on focused on understanding how type 2 lymphocytes adapt their cellular metabolism across various human tissue niches. As with many immune cells, type 2 cells differ in phenotype between tissue and organs even within the same individual. In this newly established project, you will use flow cyometry as well as single cell transcriptomics to compare phenotypes across a range of niches. You will follow up with evaluating how these cells adapt their metabolic requirements to meet their specific phenotype.

Your profile

The appointed individual should hold a master’s degree in biomedicine, immunology or similar subject. To be eligible for employment, a strong understanding of cellular immunology, flow cytometry, a degree of experience in transcriptomics and programming (R or Python), and knowledge in the field of allergic diseases are required. You should be a driven and curious individual capable of working independently as well as with a team. Communication skills are important both within the team and with collaborators in the clinic. Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is also mandatory.

We put great emphasis on personal suitability for this role.
