for the field of Resin Systems & Additive Manufacturing within the framework of a publicly funded collaborative project (limited to initially 2 years). In cooperation with a partner institute, the aim is to develop hybrid natural fibre/rCF composites via RTM processes based on sustainable epoxy resin systems. The aim of the project is to demonstrate how complex problems in composite material development can be solved in a time and cost-efficient manner using machine learning when components made from sustainable raw materials are used. The focus of the research work is the development of an optimized, multi-component mixture of petroleum-based and bio-based resins and hardeners. The optimized resin mixture is to be used as a matrix for a new, sustainable fiber composite reinforced with a hybrid fleece made of natural fibers and recycled carbon fibers. The results achieved are intended to serve developers and composite manufacturers as a basis for their own sustainable material developments.
