About the role

The research priorities of CAMO-Net UK are centred around the integrating strengths in technology, innovation, bioinformatics, epidemiology, data science and the application of AI. These priorities have been informed by existing evidence and expertise, and through collaborative discussions with National Hub Leads and baseline quantitative and qualitative data which we have generated through established work and capacity building

 

What you would be doing

The post is funded by the Wellcome Trust to address the optimisation of antimicrobial therapy and combat the rise of AMR as part of a significant investment supporting the Centres for Antimicrobial Optimisation Network (CAMO-Net); a global network for research and capacity strengthening on optimising antimicrobial use

You will plan, lead and carry out their own high-quality programme of research within this context, undertaking work which addresses drivers of AMR at the individual patient level. You will lead work on the use of innovative point-of-care technologies for real-time therapeutic drug monitoring and host biomarker monitoring, with a focus on clinical decision support. In addition, you will be expected to submit publications to refereed journals and to attract external research funding.

 

What we are looking for

we are looking for people with demonstrated appropriate technical skills in

  • Data curation, linkage, and management
  • Quantitative research methods for infectious disease epidemiology
  • Mathematical modelling and simulation
  • Economic analysis, including budge impact assessment, HTA, and economic evaluations
  • Digital coding for infections and infectious diseases

This is a full time and a fixed- term contract (12 months) with a expected start date 1 April 2025. You will be based at the Hammersmith Campus Imperial College London.
