Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?

In our research group, you will find a unique opportunity to work closely with top researchers in neuroscience to try together to understand what the ALS disease looks like in different European countries. We offer an engaging and international research environment where you get the opportunity to contribute to high-quality research at an international top level.

Your role

The primary goal of this project is to collect and harmonize prospective longitudinal ALS patient data from European members into a single searchable data platform. This will make it possible to use an existing network of centers to study the heterogeneity of ALS, to characterize disease progression and to quickly identify patients suitable for specific and targeted clinical trials. This project will also seek to identify better biomarkers of disease onset, subtype and prognosis.

The work involves adding newly diagnosed ALS patients to the database. You will work independently but will also interact with the larger teams both internationally as well as with our team at Karolinska University Hospital. The work is carried out in several computer systems with large data volumes and many variables. The employment is 100% based in Flemingsberg.

Who are you?

You are a registered nurse with specific knowledge of neurological diseases and ALS in particular. We are looking for someone who has very good knowledge of registry work and academic research, including clinical trials. You are very independent but can also work in a team. It is advantageous if you are knowledgeable in systems such as Excel, Medidata, ERT/Clario, longboat. You like to travel and can attend international meetings, even at short notice. You need a GCP certificate. Good knowledge of Swedish and English is a requirement.

What do we offer?

A creative, international and inspiring environment filled with competence and curiosity. Karolinska Institutet is one of the world’s leading medical universities. Our vision is to drive the development of knowledge about life and work for better health for everyone. Here we conduct successful medical research and have the largest range of medical education in Sweden. As a university, Karolinska Institutet is a state authority.
