Department 1 is the central contact point for all questions regarding research funding and application advice, third-party funding management, knowledge and technology transfer, and the promotion of young talent at the university and supports the Rectorate in the implementation of strategic projects and measures.

TASKS

  • Advice and support for scientists on national research funding programs and calls for proposals (including federal and state ministries, foundations, DFG)
  • Support of applications to national third-party funding bodies including content advice, financial planning, formal review of documents and submission of applications
  • identification of new funding opportunities
  • structured preparation of information and calls for proposals from third-party funding bodies as well as targeted internal university dissemination
  • Independent planning and implementation of university-wide information events on third-party funding opportunities (also in English)
  • Preparation of decision templates for the Rectorate
  • Coordination of contract conclusions within the framework of third-party funded projects in cooperation with the legal advisors in Department 1

WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • completed academic university education, preferably with a doctorate
  • very good knowledge of the national research funding landscape
  • Experience with the financial planning of third-party funded projects and the corresponding funding portals of the (national) funding bodies
  • proven knowledge of university structures and processes
  • Basic knowledge of interdisciplinary application-relevant topics such as research data management, open science, diversity/equality and the promotion of young scientists
  • Experience in (third-party funding) consulting is an advantage
  • teamwork and service orientation
  • committed and solution-oriented approach
  • very good linguistic expression skills (oral and written)
  • Fluent written and spoken English skills
