The Duke Neuropsychiatric Brain Bank is a repository of postmortem human brain tissue for the study of stress-related disorders. The applicant must be able to work in a team-based laboratory and be detail-oriented, able to communicate effectively, have excellent organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Process, dissect, and preserve brain tissue for a variety of experimental applications
- Maintain sample inventory
- Data entry and managing electronic records of experimental data
- Conduct experiments related to quality control assessment of samples, including DNA and RNA isolation
- Prepare reports of analyses and literature reviews
- Maintain laboratory supplies, reagents, and equipment
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein. This is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and duties required of personnel so classified
Education
- Work requires a bachelor’s degree in psychology, neuroscience, biology, or other science related scientific field.
- Background in neuroscience research is preferred
