We are a motivated and ambitious team whose research focuses on various issues at the interface between law and information technology. The current focus is on the development of a legal framework for artificial intelligence (AI) and on fundamental questions in the area of data protection and privacy. In addition, there are a wide range of questions in the area of intellectual property and competition law (UWG) as well as media law. The research is generally interdisciplinary.

Tasks

The activities include research and collaboration on publications in German and English and participation in the organization and implementation of workshops and public events.
There are no administrative or organizational tasks; these are handled professionally by the ITSL’s administrative management.

profile

You have a very good degree in law, ideally from a Swiss university, or are about to complete such a degree. You are interested in legal issues at the interface between law and technology, are characterized by intellectual curiosity, high self-motivation, an independent, efficient, reliable and precise way of working, the ability to work in a team and the willingness to work on new issues in a goal-oriented manner. Excellent knowledge of the German language and very good knowledge of English are essential. Experience in legal practice and knowledge of another national language are an advantage.

The position is suitable for talented and motivated people who want to gain experience in research and are aiming to write a dissertation in the field or are at least seriously considering it.
You will benefit from working in an open-minded, innovative team and an excellent research infrastructure in the immediate vicinity of the library of the Faculty of Law in the center of Zurich.
