The university research priority (URPP) “Human Reproduction Reloaded | H2R” investigates the latest developments in medical technologies in the field of human reproduction, the associated social challenges and their legal implications. The interdisciplinary URPP brings together researchers from six faculties and a variety of disciplines in the humanities, social sciences, medicine and natural sciences. Within the framework of the URPP, the ITSL primarily deals with issues of data protection law. In addition to specific legal questions in the area of ​​data protection and human research law, the focus is on basic questions of data protection law, in particular on the development of approaches for an alternative conception of data protection.

Tasks

The tasks include research and collaboration on publications in German and English as well as participation in the organization and implementation of workshops and public events. There are no administrative or organizational tasks involved; these are handled by the administrative management of the ITSL.

The position is suitable for talented and motivated people who want to gain experience in research, deal in depth with legal issues and write a dissertation in the field of data protection law or a related topic.

profile

You have a very good degree in law or are about to complete one. You are interested in basic questions of data protection law and enjoy working with researchers from other scientific disciplines. You are characterized by intellectual curiosity, high self-motivation, an independent, efficient, reliable and precise way of working, the ability to work in a team and the willingness to delve into new issues in a goal-oriented manner. Excellent knowledge of the German language and very good knowledge of English are essential. Experience in legal practice and knowledge of another national language are an advantage.
