About us
The Berchtesgadener Land Student Research Center (SFZ-BGL), which is sponsored by the Berchtesgaden district, is integrated into the TUM School of Social Sciences and Technology at the Technical University of Munich and is managed here. The SFZ-BGL aims to inspire children and young people to get involved in STEM projects. The authentic communication of research and development work is intended to support their choice of career and study. The Student Research Center therefore offers courses with different thematic focuses, levels and durations:
– We want to arouse interest in STEM among young people through offers for a broad range of subjects (e.g. class and holiday courses).
– More time-intensive offers for selected groups (e.g. STEM Academy, technology camp, clubs) enable a deepening of technical understanding and the discovery of one’s own talents. In addition, general communication skills, teamwork, presentation of results and self-efficacy are to be promoted.
– Offers for individuals or small groups of particularly talented students serve to support the implementation of demanding and long-term projects, also in cooperation with schools. This individual support is aimed, among other things, at participation in national MINT competitions.
In addition to the student offers, we offer teachers further training in the promotion of gifted students and extracurricular cooperation, e.g. in the context of W seminars and P seminars. Internships at this extracurricular learning location are also possible for student teachers.
The student research center is supported by a support association made up of local businesses and companies and the Bavarian State Ministry of Education and Culture.
